  • We partnered with TÜV SÜD, a leading global testing lab, to measure fabric UPF before and after washing with SunClad. The results showed a significant jump in protection. For example, a cotton shirt increased from UPF 4.5 to UPF 40.2 in just one wash.

  • SunClad works best on natural fibers like cotton and linen because their more fibrous structure allows the formula to bond easily. SunClad also works on natural–synthetic blends. However, it's not as effective on 100% synthetic fabrics like polyester, which are tightly woven and already provide a higher level of UV protection on their own.
