  • SunClad is formulated with a UV-absorbing filter that bonds best to natural fiber fabrics during the wash. This creates an invisible shield that absorbs UV rays before they reach your skin so you can stay protected all day long!

  • We partnered with TÜV SÜD, a leading global testing lab, to measure fabric UPF before and after washing with SunClad. The results showed a significant jump in protection. For example, a cotton shirt increased from UPF 4.5 to UPF 40.2 in just one wash.

  • SunClad works best on natural fibers like cotton and linen because their more fibrous structure allows the formula to bond easily. SunClad also works well on natural–synthetic blends.

    However, it’s less effective on 100% synthetic fabrics like polyester, which are tightly woven and already provide a higher level of UV protection on their own.

    Similarly, SunClad does not work well on mesh fabric as there isn’t much surface for the formula to hold onto.

  • The protection lasts for at least three washes. That said, we suggest using it every time you do laundry because the protection increases with each wash.

  • SunClad works well in any temperature!

  • Absolutely! Anywhere you are not covered with SunClad treated clothes, make sure you wear your sunscreen!

  • SunClad is not a detergent or cleaning agent. It contains trace amounts of cleaning ingredients used to help disperse and evenly apply the UV-protective technology during the wash. For normal cleaning, we recommend using your regular laundry detergent as usual.

  • Nope! SunClad does not alter the way they look or feel, so keep rocking your style :)
